Sealing of membranes to spirally-wound cardboard tubes

Technology:
The machine consists of 3 modules in which the following working operations are executed.
- Forming a rolled-up flange with heat at the tube top and die-flanging
at the tube bottom.
- Cutting out membranes from metal coil and sealing of membranes
to the flanged tube top (using heat).
- Application of a plastic cap.
- The cardboard tubes are carefully transported.
- The cardboard tubes are spaced by a driven dosing-star
with its own monitoring unit and fed to the tool stations
by a two-fold worm.
- The machine outlet can optionally be equipped with a
conveyor belt and a two-fold worm.
- A can-turning unit is attached to the outlet (optinal).
First module:
- A rolled-up flange is created at the upper top of the cardboard tube
by a heated die-flanging tool.
- Each tool is fitted with an automatically controlled heating system
with adjustable temperature.
- Conventional die-flanging is carried out at the cardboard tube
bottom section.
Second module:
- Two membranes are cut out from the membrane coil
simultaneously by a two-fold punching tool.
- Optimized material utilisation is reached by servo drive of the
membrane coil. (less scrap)
- Sealing of the membrane to the rolled-up flange.
- Automatically controlled heating for each tool.
- Constant sealing temperatures during the production process.
- Heated reserve tool.
Third module:
- The stay-on tab is bent downwards.
- Plastic caps are fed to the station and put on the tube-cans.
- Control device for cap application.
- Permanent monitoring of the machine parametres.
- Control device for printed membrane surface (optional).
- Overheat protection of the sealing process.
- If a cardboard tube or membrane is missing, sealing is not
carried out.
- Quality check by video monitoring (option).
- Automatic ejection of faulty tubes. The sealing-tools are fitted with a quick-change system.
The machine is equipped with high-quality components,
thus ensuring low maintenance.
- Central height adjustment by PLC for different tube heights.
